I am a born leader on a mission to continuously step out of my comfort zone. Despite my introverted, mild nature, I have a strong zeal for meeting the needs of women.
I currently serve as a Training Coordinator at the National Children’s Advocacy Center. I have a background in journalism, a Bachelors degree in Social Work from Oakwood University and a Masters degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. I have merged my journalistic and social work skills with my faith in God to recently launch my e-devotional “She Inspires“.
Since graduate school, I have developed a strong interest in women’s issues and needs. I took a Women’s Issues course, co-facilitated three Domestic Violence seminars, facilitated Women Empowering Women support group and co-facilitated DIVAS (Developing the Importance of Values And Self-respect), a self-esteem group for high school girls.
After overcoming my own self-esteem issues and realizing that this is something that affects many women, I have been on a journey to helping women discover their inner beauty and love themselves enough to overcome their own fears and insecurities.
As the co-founder of The Ladies Lounge, a Women’s Empowerment Organization, I am determined to help women discover and walk in their purpose.
I created a space where I can connect with and inspire women and above all encourage them to share their beautiful lives with others because every woman has an experience!
I have been married to my husband Joseph Gilbert II, my biggest support, for three blessed years and we currently reside in Huntsville, AL.
